Amana sucks. I bought one. Has settings that do not work. For example, it has a temperature setting, but when you set it, it flashes at a cooler temp, then goes right back to crap air cooling.
American products suck.

The unit this size is designed to cool a room 350 Sq. Feet. I don’t think this unit would cool that much space where it would be real cool. I have one which is 7000btu and it can’t cool a small room about the size less than 150 Sq. Feet.

There’s no way that thing will adequately air condition the central area of a house. If you mean bring it down a couple degrees, sure. But you’re not gonna get that thing to bring 3 rooms down to the 60s on a hot summer day. Not a chance. I have a 12,000BTU that is larger than that one and it takes 2 hours to bring my BEDROOM’s temperature down on a hot day. And I’m not talking about a master. It’s well-known that you need a more powerful portable for a smaller room than labeled.
